A powerful thunderstorm just passed through Houston and for a second I thought lightning would destroy our house! We had pea-sized hail and it definitely scared Sadie! Today we ran around town doing errands like exchanging ski bibs at REI, bought an eye mask at Walmart because it's 24-hours of light at Summit, checked out 3 books at the public library for the trip, and picked up my new glasses at the optometrist (not sure if my contacts will freeze overnight).
Here is the trip schedule:
Sunday, June 22: leave Houston and arrive in Albany, NY
Monday, June 23: leave from the Stratton Air National Guard Base (Schenectady, NY) and arrive in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland
Tuesday, June 24: leave from Kangerlussuaq, Greenland and arrive at Summit, Greenland
Thursday, July 10: leave Summit and arrive in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland
Saturday, July 12: leave from Albany, NY and arrive in Houston
